Call to Worship – Psalm 100:1-5

All read together:

1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.

Why do we have a Hymn of Adoration?

In response to God’s call to worship him, we sing! We sing about who God is and what he has done. Like Psalm 96 tells us, we “sing to the LORD” and “bless his name.” We “declare his glory among the nations” with what we proclaim in song. We sing not only with loud voices to God, but also from our hearts, giving all we are to him.

Hymn of Adoration – All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

  1. All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
    Let angels prostrate fall;
    Bring forth the royal diadem,
    And crown Him Lord of all;
    Bring forth the royal diadem,
    And crown Him Lord of all.

  2. Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
    Ye ransomed from the fall,
    Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
    And crown Him Lord of all;
    Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
    And crown Him Lord of all.

  3. O that with yonder sacred throng
    We at His feet may fall!
    We’ll join the everlasting song,
    And crown Him Lord of all;
    We’ll join the everlasting song,
    And crown Him Lord of all.

Scripture Reading – John 6:35-40

Leader Reads:

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

Hymn of Assurance – Jesus, Strong and Kind

  1. Jesus said that if I thirst,
    I should come to Him.
    No one else can satisfy,
    I should come to Him.

  2. Jesus said if I am weak,
    should come to Him.
    No one else can be my strength,
    I should come to Him.

    For the Lord is good and faithful.
    He will keep us day and night.
    We can always run to Jesus.
    Jesus, strong and kind.

  3. Jesus said that if I fear,
    I should come to Him.
    No one else can be my shield.
    I should come to Him.

  4. Jesus said if I am lost,
    He will come to me.
    And He showed me on that cross.
    He will come to me.

Sermon

Titus 1:1-3

1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the sake of the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth, which accords with godliness, 2 in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began 3 and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by the command of God our Savior.

Hymn of Response – Speak, O Lord

  1. Speak, O Lord, as we come to You
    To receive the food of Your Holy Word.
    Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;
    Shape and fashion us in Your likeness,
    That the light of Christ might be seen today
    In our acts of love and our deeds of faith.
    Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us
    All Your purposes for Your glory.

  2. Teach us, Lord, full obedience,
    Holy reverence, true humility;
    Test our thoughts and our attitudes
    In the radiance of Your purity.
    Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to see
    Your majestic love and authority.
    Words of power that can never fail,
    Let their truth prevail over unbelief.

  3. Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;
    Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us
    Truths unchanged from the dawn of time
    That will echo down thro’ eternity.
    And by grace we’ll stand on Your promises.
    And by faith we’ll walk as You walk with us.
    Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built
    And the earth is filled with Your glory.

Benediction
