Call to Worship – Psalm 103:15-19
All Read Together:
15 As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on
those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children’s children,
18 to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.
19 The Lord has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.
Hymn of Adoration – 10,000 Reasons
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
O my soul;
Worship His holy name.
Sing like never before,
O my soul;
I'll worship Your holy name.
The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning,
It's time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes.You're rich in love and You're slow to anger.
Your name is great and Your heart is kind.
For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing;
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.And on that day, when my strength is failing,
The end draws near, and my time has come;
Still, my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years, and then forevermore!
Confession and Assurance – Ephesians 2:1-8
Leader Reads:
1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Prayer
Leader will pray:
O holy and merciful God,
we look to you as our Creator and Sustainer.
We humbly confess our sin to you.
Even though we were once dead in our sin and are now alive in Christ,
we still disobey your commands.
We too easily let anger control us,
lust deceive us,
greed blind us,
and worry cripple us.
We now look to your Son, Jesus Christ,
who bore the weight of these sins on the cross,
and rose from the grave to make us alive in Him.
We worship Him now as our Savior and Lord.
Amen.
Hymn of Assurance – In Christ Alone (My Hope Is Found)
In Christ alone my hope is found; he is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease;
My Comforter, my All in All; here in the love of Christ I stand.In Christ alone who took on flesh; fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save;
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied;
For every sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live.There in the ground His body lay; light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory, sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ!No guilt in life, no fear in death; this is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, now scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand;
‘Til He returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I’ll stand!

Sermon
Luke 15:11-24
11 Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything.
17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’
20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.
Hymn of Response – Jesus Paid It All
I hear the Savior say:
“Thy strength indeed is small.
Child of weakness, watch and pray;
Find in Me thine all in all.”
Jesus paid it all;
All to Him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain;
He washed it white as snow.
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power, and Thine alone
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone.
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
My lips shall still repeat.
Benediction
Leader:
May you go, resting and rejoicing in the love God has for you in Jesus Christ.
