Psalm 23 (ESV)
A Psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord

Bring It Home Questions
Use these questions to lead a discussion or a time of private meditation on today’s Scriptures.
In verses 1-3 what past benefits is the sheep looking back on?
What stories can you tell of how God has provided for you and protected you in the past?
In verse 4, the sheep admits he is in a dangerous situation. How does he say he feels during it? Why?
How do you notice God protecting you now?
As the stay-at-home order has begun, have you noticed any habits that are causing you fear or anxiety?
The sheep finally looks forward to the rich provisions of home. What details about Heaven or the New Kingdom do you most look forward to? Read Revelation 19:6-9 or Revelation 21-22 if you need help.
Family Prayer
Before closing, ask those with you if there is anything they would like to pray for. Then offer a prayer for everyone’s requests in the room and for the list below. You can pray the whole prayer yourself or ask some in the room to pray for different things.
For God to glorify his name during this crisis
For the safety of everyone in the Indianapolis area, including your neighbors
For essential “front lines” workers like medical workers and first responders
For wisdom and endurance for our leaders
