Call to Worship – Psalm 66:4; 100:1-3; 104:24, 25

Congregation Read Bold Sections:

1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing! (Ps. 100:1-2)

3 Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
(Ps. 100:3)

24 O LORD, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
25 Here is the sea, great and wide,
which teems with creatures innumerable,
living things both small and great. (Ps. 104:24-25)

4 All the earth worships you
and sings praises to you;
they sing praises to your name.
(Ps. 66:4)

Hymn of Adoration – All Creatures of Our God and King

  1. All creatures of our God and King,
    Lift up your voice and with us sing
    Alleluia! Alleluia!
    Thou burning sun with golden beam,
    Thou silver moon with softer gleam,
    O praise Him, O praise Him!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

  2. Thou rushing wind that art so strong,
    Ye clouds that sail in heav’n along,
    O praise Him! Alleluia!
    Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice,
    Ye lights of evening, find a voice,
    O praise Him, O praise Him!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

  3. Let all things their Creator bless,
    And worship Him in humbleness,
    O praise Him! Alleluia!
    Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
    And praise the Spirit, Three in One,
    O praise Him, O praise Him!
    Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

    Praise God, from whom all blessing flow;
    Praise Him, all creatures here below;
    Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
    Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Scripture Reading – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Leader Reads:

1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

Hymn of Assurance – Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me

  1. What gift of grace is Jesus my Redeemer,
    there is no more for heaven now to give.
    He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom,
    my steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace.
    To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
    For my life is wholly bound to his.
    Oh how strange and divine, I can sing: all is mine!
    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

  2. The night is dark but I am not forsaken
    For by my side, the Savior he will stay.
    I labor on in weakness and rejoicing,
    For in my need, his power is displayed
    To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me
    Through the deepest valley he will lead
    Oh the night has been won, and I shall overcome!
    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

  3. No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven
    The future sure, the price it has been paid
    For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon
    And he was raised to overthrow the grave
    To this I hold, my sin has been defeated
    Jesus now and ever is my plea
    Oh the chains are released, I can sing: I am free!
    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

  4. With every breath I long to follow Jesus
    For he has said that he will bring me home
    And day by day I know he will renew me
    Until I stand with joy before the throne
    To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
    All the glory evermore to him
    When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat:
    Yet not I, but through Christ in me

    When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat:
    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.
    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

Sermon

Titus 1:9

5 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you— 6 if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. 7 For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, 8 but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. 9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

10 For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party.

Hymn of Response – The Church’s One Foundation

  1. The Church’s one foundation, is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
    She is His new creation, by Spirit and the Word;
    From heav’n He came and sought her, to be His holy bride;
    With His own blood He bought her, and for her life He died.

  2. Elect from ev’ry nation, yet one o’er all the earth,
    Her charter of salvation: one Lord, one faith, one birth;
    One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food,
    And to one hope she presses, with ev’ry grace endued.

  3. ‘Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war,
    She waits the consummation, of peace forevermore;
    Till with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blest,
    And the great Church victorious, shall be the Church at rest.

Benediction
