Home Worship Guide
Good Morning!
Use this form to let us know you’re there
To make things easier, all the videos are also on this YouTube playlist. This is for those of you who put the video on one screen and look at the words on another, or who want to have the video and words in separate windows.
Announcements
Weather permitting, we plan to gather outside our building at 5:15 on Christmas Eve to sing carols together. We’ll notify our mailing list the day-of.
It’s time to commit to reading the Bible with us next year and make a plan. If you’re looking for a good habit to make daily Bible reading meaningful, here’s a video of what Pastor Dave does.
Don’t forget you can come by the church office during business hours to drop off and pick up Christmas cards.
Members, check your email inboxes later today for a link to Pastor Dave’s 2020 State of the Church Address, a look a the big hurdle we cleared this year and the next few that probably await us.

Advent Hymn | Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
Paul Webb, Karen Towles, Sandy Phelps, and Dave Cook on Vocals
Sue Mann on Piano
Sing a Carol Together
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the new born King,
peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!”
Joyful, all ye nations rise,
join the triumph of the skies;
with th’ angelic host proclaim,
“Christ is born in Bethlehem!”
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the new born King!”Christ, by highest heaven adored;
Christ, the everlasting Lord;
late in time behold him come,
offspring of a virgin’s womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
hail th’ incarnate Deity,
pleased as man with man to dwell,
Jesus, our Emmanuel.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the new born King!”Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings,
risen with healing in his wings.
Mild he lays his glory by,
born that man no more may die,
born to raise the sons of earth,
born to give us second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the new born King!”

Teaching
Isaiah 40 – Preparing for a Dark Christmas, Part 2
Advent Reading
Habakkuk 2:18-20
Read by Walter Howard
18 “What profit is an idol
when its maker has shaped it,
a metal image, a teacher of lies?
For its maker trusts in his own creation
when he makes speechless idols!
19 Woe to him who says to a wooden thing, Awake;
to a silent stone, Arise!
Can this teach?
Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver,
and there is no breath at all in it.
20 But the Lord is in his holy temple;
let all the earth keep silence before him.”
Advent Hymn
Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence
Paul Webb on Vocals
Sandy Phelps on Piano
Let all mortal flesh keep silence,
And with fear and trembling stand;
Ponder nothing earthly-minded,
For with blessing in His hand,
Christ our God to earth descendeth,
Our full homage to demand.King of kings, yet born of Mary,
As of old on earth He stood,
Lord of lords, in human vesture,
In the body and the blood;
He will give to all the faithful
His own self for heav'nly food.Rank on rank the host of heaven
Spreads its vanguard on the way,
As the Light of light descendeth
From the realms of endless day,
That the pow'rs of hell may vanish
As the darkness clears away.
